Why is Kyle MacLachlan on the can of Colgate Shaving Cream?

 

The evidence
 Kyle MacLachan is a very talented actor who has starred in some of my favorite films and shows, such as "Dune" and "Twin Peaks" (both produced by David Lynch, coincidentally). But, for some mysterious reason, Kyle's face has appeared on the Colgate "Razor Protection" Shaving Cream can for quite some time now. Is this a coincidence? Is it a conspiracy? I don't know... but it sure is weird.
