I love collecting Studio Ghibli liscensed Totoro toys and stuffed animals. I have a very large collection and it grows every time I go to a convention or when there's something I can't resist on E-bay. I try to avoid bootleg Totoro toys, but there are some that are just so funny that I couldn't help myself. I had to have them- this page is dedicated to those sad Totoro toys.

I bought this little guy in a Korean grocery store. He was just hanging there with some random cute keychains. I have never before seen a pink Totoro, and I may not see one again... ^_^ His little bag says, "Totoro" on it in Japanese, but it seems they got the characters on there sort of sideways. Pink Totoro lives in my car and looks happily pink at me everytime I go somewhere! |

I was shopping at a store called "Another Universe" in Virginia, looking at science fiction and anime stuff, when suddenly I saw something familiar hanging in the Pokemon toys. I picked it up, and lo and behold, it was a deformed Totoro. He even had the little ^^^'s on his chest (they didn't show up too well in the scan). The poor little Soot-Sprite next to him has only one eye; he was obviously made by someone who thought he was a Pokemon and tried to make the Sprite look Pokemon ball-like. The price-tag listed the product as "Pokemon", but I knew better. |
